Swaledale Festival commissioned John to write a new piece, premiered at the festival on the 9th June 2021.
Entitled ‘The Bait’, this new work, featuring poetry from John Donne, was written for an ensemble of two singers (tenor and mezzo-soprano), viol and lute. The musicians performing the piece included John Potter, Jacob Heringman, Susanna Pell and Peyee Chen. Both Heringman and Potter are members of the group Amores Pasados who have previously collaborated with John.
